COVID-19 - How we’re dealing with it:

We are so excited to cook with you or your gift recipients!  Though the pandemic is “kinda, sorta over-ish” we’ve pretty much gone back to normal, however, if anyone is feeling even a little under-the-weather, we will remain flexible with rescheduling any classes within reason. Please and thank you!

We want everyone to continue their culinary journey with Ingredient Studio by their sides and are grateful that you welcome us to cook with you!

How do we get started?  Email us today with your questions or ideas for what you’d like to create or to discuss some of the many cooking classes we’ve taught others.  We’ll create a unique lesson or series that works best for your interests and skill level.

What can I expect from a single cooking lesson? Depending on your skill level, we can get you on your way to cooking with confidence in your own kitchen.  From basic skills for starters and technique-based recipes for the experienced cook, we can assess your needs when we talk.  Planning a dinner party or want to prepare a meal for a special occasion? We can work together and plan a lesson (or series of lessons) around a special menu.

In a 2 hour lesson, we can usually plan for 1-3 dishes which will culminate in a full sit-down meal for you to enjoy (or pack up for later).

What areas do you teach in? Bend, Redmond and Sunriver, Oregon. If you live beyond these areas, please call us to discuss if we are available to travel further. Depending on location, this will incur a surcharge.

Can I invite my friends?  Of course! Let’s make it a party! Depending on the size of your kitchen we can cook as a group.  Additional participants are $60 per person up to 5 additional guests.  If you want to invite a group larger than 6, we can arrange to do a demo teaching class.  Contact us to discuss details and pricing.

What are your class rates?  One-on-one cooking instruction rates start at $125 per person for a 2-hour lesson with additional hours charged at $60/hr.  Contact us to plan your unique lesson or series of lessons.  Subject matter will determine the length of each class.

What about kids? We mostly work with older teens, typically 16+. A parent will need to be present and they are responsible all communication leading to the lesson as well as purchasing the ingredients for the lesson. Kids classes are limited to 4 participants and cost is same as adults. $125 for the first participant + $60 per additional participants.

What tools and equipment will I need?  Once we’ve created your unique lesson plan, we will email you with a checklist of cooking equipment needed. Chances are that you’ll have all or most of what we’ll need.  If something important is missing, we can bring it.  No problem!  As part of any cooking lesson we’ll cover the subject of kitchen equipment too.

Can I hire Ingredient Studio to prepare a meal for a team building event?  Certainly!  We can’t wait to cook as a group!!  Demo-style or hands-on, executive retreats, book club luncheons and more.  Get in touch to discuss your special event.

Who buys the ingredients?  A week before the class we will email you a detailed shopping list so you can have everything you need ready for your lesson.  For individual lessons, quantities will be calculated for approximately 4 portions. For group lessons we will adjust accordingly.

Please plan ahead, so you can make the most of your cooking class. We recommend shopping ahead of time, as opposed to the hour before the class. This always adds unnecessary stress to what should be a fun and relaxed experience.

If you prefer us to do the shopping, this can be arranged at an hourly rate of $50/hr.  We will invoice you the anticipated cost of ingredients before the class.  If there are any outstanding costs we will collect them on the day of service.

Cleaning:   We live by a “clean-as-we-go” rule to keep the kitchen orderly during the class so you are left with a tidy kitchen at the end.

What about allergies or dietary needs?  No problem. Let us know when you call to discuss your lesson and we’ll be sure to plan the recipes or menus accordingly.

Prepared meals: We are no longer offering these services.

How do the Gift Certificates work?  The gift of cooking classes are second to none! We have them available as an electronic gift certificate, or if you prefer one of our beautifully designed hard copies, we can mail this to you or the recipient.  Once the lucky recipient receives their gift certificate, they just need to contact us and we’ll take it from there.  Certificates are good for 1 year from date of purchase.

Consultation: Sometimes we all need a little guidance.  We are available for all manner of culinary consultation. Setting up essential kitchen equipment, how to plan a menu and even how to shop.  Let us help you with anything you need to build up your kitchen confidence and have fun cooking.

How do I pay you?  You can purchase lessons here.  For team building events and larger group lessons we will create an invoice and require a 50% deposit upon scheduling, with the remainder due 1 week prior to event.  We gladly accept checks or cash.  3% Processing Fee applied to all payments made by card.

Changes/Cancellations:  Things happen, we understand! Changes to lessons or menus can be made 3-5 days prior to booking with no charge.  Any changes after that will incur a 50% fee. Changes made 24 hrs prior to booking date are non-refundable.
